At normal driving speeds, StreetMapper can detect and map overhead lines. This data can then be used to determine wire heights, wire sag, and clearance of vegetation.

Versatility

Due to the versatility of StreetMapper, numerous laser scanners can be set up in a variety of orientations to best suit the application. A typical setup may include a scanner pointing 30 degrees up to map overhead wires, and a scanner pointing 30 degrees down to capture the road surface. Additionally scanners can be setup to look to the sides to capture roadside furniture and wires parallel to the road.
